I’m a political / organizing / economic strategist firmly in the progressive world fighting for the people to defeat the class warfare engineered by the elites. I try to find the “white spaces” that need filling, the places to explain, advocate and lift up.

I’ve done the traditional press routine including The Wall Street Journal, CNBC, Business Week, Playboy Magazine, The Washington Post, The New York Times and The Los Angeles Times. From 2015-2016, I was a regular contributor to CNN in my role as national surrogate for Bernie Sanders.

You can also listen to my weekly podcast on YouTube.

I’ve also written five books: The Essential Bernie Sanders and His Vision for America(Chelsea Green, 2015); It’s Not Raining, We’re Being Peed On: The Scam of the Deficit Crisis (2010; 2nd edition, 2013); The Audacity of Greed: Free Markets, Corporate Thieves and The Looting of America(IG Publishing, 2009); They Get Cake, We Eat Crumbs: The Real Story Behind Today’s Unfair Economy, an average reader’s guide to the economy (1997); and The Edifice Complex: Rebuilding the American Labor Movement to Face the Global Economy, a critique and prescriptive analysis of the labor movement (1995).

Here is a select list of my past columns, articles and major projects.

Here is a selection of my TV appearances.

My organizational life has brought me the gift of working with many talented, committed people over the past 30 years, principally during the 13 years I had the honor to serve as president of the National Writers Union (UAW Local 1981).

Aside from that, it’s baseball, and counting the days until pitchers and catchers report.
